Love

What is love?  In my view love is being kind.  I have often wondered how can I love someone when they have been unloving?  Then it dawned on me, be kind.  I don't have to rush up to someone, throw my arms around them and "act" nice.  I can choose to be KIND.  I have experienced times when "christian women" were as rude as you might think a non-christian would be.  I knew I had to go beyond my feelings and realized what I needed to do was show kindness.  Even today, while in church, in was kind when it was hard to do. Whenever you are wounded and don't want to show love, just be kind.

Today's cares

Please join me today in honoring the word of God.  In I Peter 5:7 the Bible tells us to cast your cares (worries/concerns) upon Him for He careth for you.  Wow, how awesome is He!  This means that we can have a good Friday and thank Him for it.  I sometimes say this scripture as I take my hand and brush my arm in a gesture of brushing something off of my sleeve.  By doing this, I am casting my cares on the One who does care.  Now this doesn't mean that once I have done this gesture that I don't bring the issue back to my thoughts.  I will only allow the thought to be remembered and then remind myself that I have given it to God and I know without a doubt that He will determine the outcome.  I've had to explain this process to my daughters to make them understand that it's not that I don't care for them or the issues that they may be experiencing but I am doing it out of obedience to God.   Of course, prayer is an immediate source of my cooperating with casting my care upon Him.  I continue in prayer asking that the Lord give me strength to not try and go back into the very thing I gave Him.  In saying this, please give God the chance of helping you out with your worries and concerns for today.  After you have done this only a few times, it will become automatic and you will have a more peaceful day.
